We have Beards so we know Movies: Red Riding Hood (2011)

June 1, 2011

Okay, what have we got? (pre-watch thoughts)

1. Red Riding Hood, a movie based on a 14th Century children’s story. I remember being told this story back when I was a child.
2. Amanda Seyfried. I like her. Especially in Mamma Mia!
3. A killer big bad wolf. Oooh, this can get scary!

Okay, what did we get? (post-watch thoughts)

1. Okay, I don’t care about the changes to the Red Riding Hood story, but having her being torn between two guys who want her seems so overly done these days.
2. Amanda Seyfried. Still like her even though this movie will be erased from her filmography in my mind and whenever people will mention that she made this movie I will call them liars and storm off.
3. The Wolf turned Werewolf is less scary than [Insert Republican Politician here] announcing they are running for president.

The only two things I will take away from this movie is:
The only two things I will take away from this
1. Max Irons playing Red Riding Hood love interest no.2 is a great actor. Oh, you noticed his surname. Yes, he is the son of actor Jeremy Irons.
2. Jeremy Irons isn’t gay.
Finally, to sum up the movie: That phrase on the poster should have warned me. Next time “From the director/producers of Twilight” appears anywhere I will drop everything and slowly back away.

Heck, quickly will do fine too..
