Review: I had no idea what to expect when I went into the movie theater to see Jurassic Park back in 1994 (yeah, us Swedes like to age our movies a year or so before we bring them over from the States, like fine wine!).

I hadn’t seen any previews or anything, since back then I wanted to go in “fresh” (and still do sometimes).

Oscar Count
 3 Wins.
Best Effects, Sound Effects Editing (Gary Rydstrom, Richard Hymns) Best Effects, Visual Effects (Dennis Muren, Stan Winston, Phil Tippett, Michael Lantieri) Best Sound (Gary Summers, Gary Rydstrom, Shawn Murphy, Ron Judkins)

And just like when I played Duck Hunt on Nintendo the first time, I was amazed by the special effects!! It was like I was right there; running with dinosaurs, digging dung with Laura Dern, and hearing Jeff Goldblum talking in a monotone voice like only Jeff Goldblum can, like I was right beside Jeff Goldblum!!
I wonder if saying Jeff Goldblum three times is the same as saying Beetlejuice..? Then I’m in deep trouble.. Damn it, I’m up to four now!! Got to go. Just in case.

Nerdiest Movie Trivia: Steven Spielberg was in the very early stages of pre-production for the film “ER” (based on a Michael Crichton novel), when he heard about the “Jurassic Park” book. He subsequently dumped what he was doing to make the film. Afterwards, he returned to “ER” and helped develop it into a hit TV series (ER).

PREVIOUS ON THE LIST: 29. Beverly Hills Cop (1984)
