This is simply put a ”best of” collection of American propaganda films from the 40’s and 50’s about the atomic bomb. But it’s the way those films are re-edited together with the context of what we know today that makes it a beautiful and scary documentary.

It’s also really funny but every time you laugh you go “hahaha, oh yeah people died from that”.

We are treated with clips from such classics as “Duck! And Take Cover” – the nuclear safety film that tells you to duck and take cover under a table in case an atomic bomb going of in your neighborhood.

I wonder what kind of movies we will get in the future that reflect our times? Maybe:

A collection of commercials with happy teens with cellphones practically attached to their ears not knowing that brain cancer is the biggest cause of death in 2030.

Or:

Commercials where we see a proud grandpa give chocolates to kids; when it really is brown cyanide. What? You think I’m crazy for believing chocolate is poison just because scientists haven’t proven it yet? Well then explain to me why chocolate looks like shit and kills dogs then?!

PREVIOUS ON THE LIST: 61. Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005)
