The Semi-Retarded Polish Spammer

by

Sika from the animated comedy blog Lunki and Sika in a tan and a Sika t-shirtHow does spam comments work? Does a computer automatically send them out or are spammers actually visiting blogs and posting comments in an effort to get people to click on their Viagra and car insurance links?

Lately I think their comments have become smarter, you know more like other comments; “Nice post. I will read more”. Or “I have been looking for this information on the internet. Thank you for helping me with this issue”.

But today when I checked the spam comments I found this one who was posted on Janne the Director’s Greg Giraldo eulogy. The link that came with the comment was for purchasing a weight loss calculator.

i can has cheeseburger?

I loved it. I can imagine the first day on the job at “Spammers inc.”, this cute but semi-retarded Polish boy trying to fill his quota. “Yes Grzegorz, you can have cheeseburger. When you’ve finished posting your one million spam comments”.

Hope this helps the understanding of this worldwide problem.

Thanks Alistair for clearing this up for me. I’m ashamed to have dragged Poland into this, when I should have known all along those Argentinians had something to do with it..!

Mind you it might have read “contents” not “comments”. Still it’s on the internet now so it’s true now anyway.

Hi Sika. It’s the transatlantic diablog again. Funny that we had the same idea of looking a bit closer at SPAM attacks. It’s a problem and annoying but also very funny. So maybe you like this one, too? http://transatlanticdiablog.wordpress.com/2010/09/20/best-of-diablog-spam-do-you-know-how-to-stop/
