Plot: In 1963 Oregon, R.P McMurphy (Jack Nicholson), is serving a prison sentence for statutory rape of a 15-year-old girl, but is transferred to a mental institution run by Nurse Ratched (Louise Fletcher) for evaluation.
McMurphy finds that the other patients are more fearful of Nurse Ratched than they are focused on becoming functional in the outside world and decides to shake things up.
