Gene Tweed, Really?

I just read that KISS front man Gene Simmons has proposed to long-time girlfriend Shannon Tweed. Anyone else who finds that surprising??

He has been an advocate for non-marriage since like forever and has constantly spoken against it over the years. And now suddenly after spending 28 years with Shannon Tweed he caves?

Then I read the proposal was a cliffhanger on the reality show Gene Simmons Family Jewels.. He’ll do anything for ratings I guess. Can we expect a “nah, just kidding” at the beginning of the next episode?
