Zombies and Dirty Dancing
We are so psyched about this Friday. I mean, how often do you get a chance to become a Zombie?
Well, you could of course play dress up in your spare time, but to also be part of the movie experience? That’s new to us anyway.
A zombie is a mythical creature that appears in folklore and popular culture typically as a reanimated corpse or a mindless human being. Stories of zombies originated in the Afro-Caribbean spiritual belief system of Vodou, which told of the people being controlled as laborers by a powerful sorcerer. Zombies became a popular device in modern horror fiction, largely because of the success of George A. Romero’s 1968 film Night of the Living Dead.
I love Zombie movies. But it took some tome before I started watching them. Before then I had been watching movies like The Blues Brothers and Dirty Dancing, until I as a 15-year old, back in 1989, came across Stephen King’s Pet Sematary, and got creeped out by that scary looking kid. I actually thought he looked scary even before he became a Zombie.
Anyway, as a first step to get ready for Friday’s shoot, I have sent Lunki to the store to get Makeup. Oh yes, our Zombie faces are about to come on.
